KIMONO HAT, King of Flowers

¥176,000

Price will be listed in Japanese Yen (JPY) during checkout.

A one-of-a-kind hat made from a kimono (Frisode) from the Showa period (1926-1989).

The peonies, camellias, and wisteria hand-painted with gold leaf and special materials on mustard-dyed pure silk shimmer luxuriously, while the hat brim wrapped in thick silk satin and the ribbon made from crinkled silk chiffon fabric turn bright purple when exposed to the sun or light.

Solid shape, flat top, flat medium brim.
It can be worn by all genders.

Peonies were introduced to Japan from China as a medicinal herb in the Nara period (710 - 794 AD), and then came to be used as a kimono pattern. At that time, only aristocrats were allowed to wear kimono with peony designs.

Peonies are also known as the "king of flowers," and the peony design on kimono has meanings such as nobility, beauty, and happiness.

Create a beautiful look with this hat made from a kimono with noble peony designs.
