Sumi-e is a painting created using sumi (a material also used in Japanese calligraphy).
In the Kamakura period (1185-1333), Zen art, which expressed the spiritual world using only shades of sumi, became popular as it was in keeping with the spirit of the samurai, and was used as a kimono design in the Muromachi period (1333-1573).
Sumi-e in kimono, also called Musen-yuzen, is a traditional Japanese art form in which skilled craftsmen with unique techniques draw directly by hand on carefully woven fabric without using underpainting.
Create a graceful appearance with this hat made from an artistic kimono.
