Hats are made from a traditional Japanese kimono.

"Mud dyeing" is the only natural dyeing method in the world that is performed only in Amami Oshima. Silk threads that have been soaked in red juice boiled from a tree called Teach tree and dried are dyed in iron-rich mud rice fields, causing a chemical reaction and dyeing cool color.

All manufacturing processes are done by hand, from kimono cleaning to deconstruction to hat production. Hats are handmade by an artisan.

The product is made from a same kimono fabric, but the position and orientation of the pattern may differ slightly from the product pictures.
